A high quality, commercial fit-out
Awarded by the Government of Western Australia’s Department of Finance - Building Management and Works, the office fit-out for the Mental Health Commission supported a key focus area for Broad in the capability of commercial fit-out.
Works commenced in January 2016 and safely completed after an intensive 18-week fit-out program.
The scope of the project included the commercial fit-out of two levels of the WorkZone East building, located on Nash Street on the fringe of Perth’s CBD. The office fit-out project now houses around 200 employees.
The project comprised:
- Demolition of existing facilities.
- Structural work.
- All joinery and cabinet work.
- Installation of operable wall systems, audio-visual equipment, electrical services, mechanical services and hydraulic services.
- Installation of ceilings and flooring, and all visual graphical elements of the fit-out.
Throughout the fit-out works, other levels of the six-storey building remained occupied and the team worked hard to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.
Broad brought experience and proficiency to the delivery of this project, including the capability to leverage existing knowledge of the building following Broad's role as managing contractor for the base-build construction of both WorkZone buildings (east and west) in 2013.
In 2013 the team also undertook the integrated fit-out of the opposing building - WorkZone West - for which Broad received the Best Building Fit-out award at the Master Builders Western Australia 2014 Excellence in Construction Awards.
