One of Australia’s most significant commercial and retail projects
Our appointment by Leighton Properties to work on Tower 2 of Kings Square 2 (KS2) commercial office development in the heart of Perth’s CBD allowed us to support the delivery of one of Australia’s most significant commercial and retail projects - the $5.2 billion Perth City Link development.
Tower 2 is an 11-storey building with 20,440sqm of A-Grade commercial office space and 530sqm of ground floor retail and facilities.
It features advanced energy efficient systems, locally sourced materials and efficient destination controlled lifts and is targeting a 5 Star Green Star – Office Design v3 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, a 5 Star NABERS energy rating and LEED Silver rating.
We received official practical completion in May 2015 and are extremely proud to have successfully delivered a big piece of this landmark development.
Collaboration was key to the success of the project with different construction companies and their trades working side-by-side in limited space. Thus, KS2 clearly showcases how we can deliver complex projects efficiently and effectively for our clients.
The safety and wellbeing of our people
KS2 was involved in the SGS third-party certification audits and WorkSafe assessment that contributed to Broad receiving the WA Platinum Certificate of Achievement.
In addition, the entire project was delivered with no lost time injuries (LTIs) and the combined KS2 and KS4 teams amassed more than 1,356,399 hours LTI free.
