A new student college development
The University of New England (UNE) awarded Broad a new student college development, located at the Armidale Campus.
Wright College works comprised:
- Three new accommodation buildings housing 211 beds.
- Common rooms.
- Study rooms.
- A break-out area.
- Laundry and dining facilities.
- Eternal courtyards and relaxation areas.
- Administrative offices and stores.
The college was constructed using prefabricated bedroom modules that were completed off-site and then transported and craned into position in a completed state. All other areas were constructed using traditional construction methods.
Work commenced in July 2013 and reached practical completion in November 2014.
A safe and effective works program
The site of the new college was within the campus grounds, presenting challenges of working within a live environment and in close proximity to university staff and students.
To safeguard the environment, we worked closely with the university to develop and ensure strict protocols were adhered to and and in compliance with all statutory regulations.
